Shaping our Future as a LHIN Hub

Thursday May 26, 2016
The Grande Event Centre, 300 Wyld Street, North Bay

Purpose of the Day:
  • To gather input from providers in the Nipissing/Temiskaming Hub on ways and means to deliver more integrated care to people living within the Hub
Intended Outcomes:
  • To inform the development of a Nipissing/Temiskaming Hub Strategy
  • To help position providers with the knowledge they need to work together better

More coordinated health care for people living in the Nipissing/Temiskaming district moved forward with more than 150 people who met for a full day in North Bay to offer their thoughts on how to achieve a more integrated system of care for people living in the district.

Attendees included board chairs, governors, physicians, nurse practitioners, CEOs, front-line staff, mental health and addictions providers, long-term care, primary care, District Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) representatives and public health. They worked on establishing priorities for the district and provided input on possible next steps to bridge gaps in care.

The planning day was jointly hosted by the North East Local Health Integration Network (NE LHIN) and the North Bay Regional Health Centre. The North East LHIN is now considering the outcomes of the day in the development of a hub strategy.
